Connections 2019 attendees had the privilege of listening to Mick Ebeling share how he founded Not Impossible Labs, an organization built on the premise that nothing is impossible. They find amazing individuals around the world that need a solution to a seemingly impossible problem and commit to building a solution through technology. His mantra of “commit, then figure it out” inspired Ultimate Software to partner with Ebeling to sponsor an invention to help humanity—affectionately referred to as an ‘Absurdity Project.’ We collected 83 heartfelt nominations from Connections 2019 attendees. One particular nomination from North Carolina captured our attention—a story about a teenager with unusual memory loss. • All Ultimate Customers attending the Connections 2020 conference that have not won an Innovation Award are eligible to win. Previous winners may reapply if they have not won in the past five years or have significantly extended their use of Ultimate's solutions. • Customers may submit nominations in more than one category, with a separate, tailored submission for each category. • Nominees should be willing and available to be featured in a video filmed during the Connections conference that may be shared publicly after the conference. The group rate is available to three or more paying customers, registering together at the current rate under one group leader. The group discount enables you to receive over $150 off the individual pricing. *Discount is applied automatically when 3 or more register at the same time.
Cancellations received by 1/13/20 are eligible for a refund of the registration fee less a $125 processing fee. From 1/14/20 through 2/3/20 all cancellation will be assessed a $500 cancellation fee. After 2/4/20, absolutely no refunds are available.
You may send another person from your company in your place at no additional charge. Substitutions can be made in writing to connections@ultimatesoftware.com up until February 29, 2020 at Noon (ET).
How do I book, change, or cancel my hotel room reservation?
On the “Hotels” page, you will find links that will give you access to either your current reservation or available rooms at both the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort or The Palazzo Tower at the Venetian Resort. Both properties have discounted rates which have been negotiated for you. *Our room block will expire on 2/8/2020. Once our room block is full or expires, we cannot get the rate for anyone.
Which hotel should I stay at?
The Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort are on the same property as Connections 2020. They are connected by the conference space in the center. Both hotels are excellent options. Wynn Resorts holds more Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Our resort offers award-winning restaurants, exciting entertainment and nightlife, two award-winning spas, salons and luxury shopping. Our commitment is to make every visit a once-in-a-lifetime experience to our guests. The Palazzo Tower at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas - is an all-suite luxury resort directly next to the Wynn/Encore. It’s just a short walk over a pedestrian bridge from our conference center.
What time is hotel check-in and checkout?
Guests can check-in after 3:00 pm. Checkout is at 11:00 am. If you arrive earlier/later, the bell desks at each hotel can store luggage for you.
What if I need to leave the conference early?
Per hotel policy, an early departure fee of one-night room and tax will be incurred if you do not modify your departure date prior to or upon check-in.
Can I use a company card to pay for my hotel room?
You may reserve your hotel room with any credit card you choose; however, when you check in you will be required to present a card with your name on it for incidentals. PLEASE NOTE: The credit card used to book this reservation must be present upon arrival at the Front Desk and match the name of the guest checking in. If this is not possible, please contact the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort Reservations Team at 866-770-7555 or 702-770-2222 or The Palazzo Tower at 866-659-9643 prior so they can process the corporate card not in your name. Please do this at least 72 hours prior to check-in so any questions can be addressed prior to your arrival.
How much does the hotel put on hold on my credit card for incidentals?
The Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort and The Palazzo Tower at the Venetian Resort place a hold $150 per day on the credit card upon check-in. This hold allows guests to charge items to their rooms, such as restaurant or bar charges, gift shop merchandise, in-room dining, etc. This $150 per day hold will be charged to the credit card presented at check-in, not the card used to reserve the room. If the credit card you are using to check-in does not have your name on it, the hotels will not accept it unless you call the reservation line in advance and make arrangements at least 72 hours prior to check-in.
How much is the resort fee and what does it include?
• The nightly resort fee will be charged upon check-in to your hotel room onsite. We have negotiated a reduced resort fee for our customers attending Connections 2020. The resort fee includes the following In-room internet access for up to four devices, access to the fitness center, complimentary self-parking and/or validated valet parking, access to resort pools, and more. • Guests staying at The Wynn/Encore will be charged $20 per day upon check-in. • Guests staying at The Palazzo Tower will be charged $35 per day upon check-in.
Where can I store my luggage if I get in early or my flight doesn’t leave until later?
Both hotels have bell desks that can store your luggage prior to check-in/checkout.
What are the hours of the Fitness Centers?
The Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort fitness centers are open from 5:30 am to 8:00 pm. The Palazzo fitness center is open 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Can I ship items to the Wynn or Encore Resort?
Yes, you may ship items to your attention at the hotel. Please note there is a fee for the hotels to accept and store packages. Fees vary; please call the hotel at 702-770-7000 or 888-320-7123 to inquire about rates.
What airport should I fly in and out of?
Most major airlines operate out of Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport (LAS).
When should I fly in/out of Las Vegas?
• Conference registration and check-in will be open Monday, March 2 from 12:00 - 8:00 pm. After check-in, you are free to participate in an optional Community Service activity, visit our Community and Learning Lounge or recharge in our Mindfulness Lounge. • If for some reason you are unable to make it within the 12:00 - 8:00 pm time frame, there will be early morning check-in on Tuesday, March 3 starting at 6:30 am. • Our first general session begins Tuesday, March 3 at 8:30 am. Our final conference event will be our Customer Appreciation Party on Thursday night, beginning at 8:00 pm and ending at midnight. • Conference attendees should book their outgoing travel for Friday morning anytime. Hotel checkout time is 11:00 am; the bell desk can hold your luggage, if needed.
At the end of January, all registered Connections attendees will be sent a series of three email notifications. The first email will be sent on January 21st. This will contain a list of all sessions that we will be offering. Look through the different sessions and make a note of which you would like to attend. On January 24th, our preliminary registration will begin. This email will let you know how and when you may begin building your personal agenda by selecting ONE Hands-on Learning class. The January 31st email will instruct you on how to register for all sessions, including additional Hands-on Learning. 1/21/2020: Full session schedule sent to all registered attendees 1/24/2020: Session registration opens for the selection of ONE Hands-on Learning session 1/31/2020: All sessions open for registration, including additional Hands-on Learning sessions
When do I select my breakout sessions?
We will again be offering a substantial number of seats in Hand-on Learning sessions. The sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. When session registration opens on January 24, 2020, customers will be able to select one (1) Hands-on Learning session. One week later, the rest of the breakout sessions will open, at which time customers can choose additional Hands-on Learning sessions, along with their regular breakout sessions.
Will I be able to get into a Hands-on Learning session?
• Many Connections 2020 breakout sessions will qualify for American Payroll Association (APA) Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs), and we are offering two APA led sessions. Qualifying sessions will be notated when descriptions are made available in January prior to session registration opening. After Connections, attendees will be provided with instructions and qualifying session codes to submit RCHs to APA. • In 2019, the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) approved Connections for 11 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) and we expect this to be similar for Connections 2020. We will provide attendees with submission instructions after Connections. • The HR Certification Institute (HRCI) will not pre-approve Connections 2020 for credit hours because the conference is not open to the public. You may record your relevant Connections activities into your account profile but Ultimate Software cannot guarantee the credits will be accepted.
Will recertification credits be offered at Connections 2020?
We are not able to offer guest passes to Connections. The only people allowed in any of the meeting areas will be our customers, sponsors, and staff members. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
Can I bring a guest to the conference? Can they eat with me, come to the evening events, etc.?
Is there a mobile app for Connections?
• Sustainability at Wynn Resorts means providing luxurious, service-driven hospitality in a manner that respects people, communities, and the environment. For more than 10 years, Wynn has been an enthusiastic steward of the environment, proving that a five-star resort can function at the highest level of service while still being environmentally responsible. • Green Buildings: Wynn Las Vegas and Encore buildings hold the high award of Four Green Globes (equivalent to LEED Platinum) from the Green Building Initiative. By achieving this high level certification, Wynn Las Vegas and our guests participate in building a more sustainable community. Our buildings have been certified as having excellence in resource efficiency, health, and environmental sustainability. Wynn Las Vegas continues to install more efficient building features, implement energy-saving devices, and establish sustainability procedures to enhance hotel operations. • Renewable Energy: Wynn Las Vegas invests in renewable sources of energy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Solar power is generated in two ways. Rooftop solar panels at the hotel provide clean power directly to our guests. Additionally, solar power of scale is generated at the 160-acre Wynn Solar Facility. This energy offsets up to 75% of the resort’s peak power requirements. This is the largest percentage of renewable energy used by any resort in Las Vegas. • Energy Efficiency: Wynn Las Vegas spearheads a system-wide effort to conserve utilities by exceeding efficiency standards wherever possible. Wynn Las Vegas has reduced its energy consumption by more than 100 million kilowatt hours by investing in energy efficient technologies such as LED lighting. Investing in energy efficiency has offset over 100,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 9.9 million gallons of gasoline. Efficiency programs are a key program in the company wide-initiative to reduce resource consumption. • Water Conservation: Wynn Las Vegas incorporated more than five acres of artificial turf across the resort, saving over 30 million gallons of water each year. Non-potable water is used on the golf course and the drip irrigation system is designed to forecast weather in order to deliver only the necessary amount of water. We minimize our chemical impact through organic landscape products and biological pest control methods. We have also implemented a composting solution to recycle all greenery, flower, and landscaping waste. • Responsibly Sourced Produce: Sustainability plays a major role in the culinary program at Wynn Las Vegas. The majority of produce is sourced from within a 400 mile radius, reducing fossil fuel consumption needed for transportation. Chefs review each purveyor, farmer, rancher, and fisherman to evaluate if their operations meet our sustainability standards. Guests receive the best tasting, freshest food, while also supporting ethical and responsible environmental practices. Wynn Las Vegas sources line-caught seafood at the fine dining restaurants to avoid unintentionally trapping marine life. In many instances, seafood is sourced from day boat fisherman, thus supporting family-owned sustainable fishing operations. • Food Waste: Our Food and Beverage operations collect excess food waste before it can collect in traditional landfill. By working with local food waste management businesses, thousands of tons of food scraps have been converted into animal feed. Additionally, reclaimed food is donated to a local food pantry to fight food insecurity. • Responsibly Sourced Goods: Wynn Las Vegas is working to reduce the negative environmental impacts of pollution by reducing use of single-use plastics at the hotel. Wynn Resorts began transitioning all hotels away from using plastic straws in 2018. Containers made from eco-friendly materials will replace majority of plastics around Wynn Las Vegas in 2019. • Reuse & Recycle: Wynn Las Vegas builds long-term partnerships with local waste management providers to ensure reliable waste management. All trash is collected and thoroughly sorted to remove recyclable materials like glass, paper, and metal. Larger products and machinery are repaired or reused by our employees to extend the duration of the product life. • Recycling Soap: By collecting, recycling and distributing used soap and shampoo products from our guest rooms every day, Clean the World and Wynn Las Vegas are collectively saving lives and the planet, domestically and internationally. To date, more than 500,000 bars of soap have been sent out to communities globally.

What is the dress code for Connections?
The conference is business casual. Please note the hotel conference rooms can sometimes be chilly, so we recommend that you bring a light jacket or sweater with you. The resort and conference space are very large, so we recommend at least one pair of comfortable shoes. You will do a lot of walking.

How can I participate in the Connections 2020 community service project? Attend one of three sessions on Monday after you pick up your badge and conference materials. What will I be doing? You’ll assemble care packages to be shipped to deployed American heroes around the world. These packages will contain hygiene items, non-perishable food, games, and notes of gratitude for their service and sacrifice. When can I participate? On Monday, March 2 sessions will start at: 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. in the Wynn Mouton ballroom (near the Connections registration desk). Sessions will last 60 to 90 minutes depending on the number of participants! How do I sign-up to confirm my participation? You can add this session to your personal agenda beginning January 31 when registration for all breakout sessions opens. If your arrival time changes, show up to any session at any time. • A WiFi-enabled laptop meeting these requirements to complete the instructor-led learning activities in a UltiPro® demo environment. • An electronic or printed manual for each session below you plan to attend. Manuals can be accessed two ways: 1. In the Connections 2020 mobile app, tap Schedule at the bottom of the screen, then My Schedule at the top. For each day, tap on the Hands-on Learning course(s) which appear on your agenda. Once in the session, scroll down to the Documents section and select the manual to either view, download, email, or print. (See an example - options are device-dependent.) OR 2. Click on the session titles below to view these files. Then either right click or use tools in upper right corner to save as, download, print, or bookmark. If you plan to view electronically, you must use a device other than the laptop you will use to complete the learning activities. (e.g. tablet, smartphone, or additional laptop.) Ultimate Software will not provide printed copies of manuals available onsite. Registration for hands-on learning sessions has closed. If you wish to drop a course, you may do so, but you cannot add any courses at this point. However, if you arrive up to a half-hour before a session starts, you can join the standby line and often times get into the session.
